Bahçeşehir University School of Applied Sciences was established in 2007 under the umbrella of Bahçeşehir University, a world brand in education. Our school admitted its first students to the Department of Gastronomy, which provides education in Turkish in the 2015-2016 academic year. As a second step, the infrastructure and academic studies of the Pilotage Department, which is considered one of the future professions, have been completed and the necessary approvals have been obtained for the admission of students to teach in English in the 2019-2020 academic year.

The basic principle in the establishment and training of the School of Applied Sciences and its departments is to not only teach information, but also to provide an education intertwined with practice. As a result of the application of the learning-by-doing model and the education and practice at the same time, students graduate with knowledge and practice in the profession they have chosen and studied. The name of the School of Applied Sciences can sometimes be confused with Vocational Schools. Schools of Applied Sciences, like known faculties, provide four-year undergraduate education. Its difference from other faculties is that vocational-based practices are much more intense than faculties and that they provide an education that allows their students to start working in the business world as soon as they graduate. In addition to being able to adapt to the business world immediately, students who graduate from the School of Applied Sciences can continue their academic careers by pursuing a bachelor's and doctorate degree like other faculty graduates.

Another advantage of the School of Applied Sciences departments is that their students gain work experience during their student life. Our students gain valuable professional experience in the practices they will face during their education and in the internships they will perform as a result of the close relations of our University with the companies of the industrial world. Due to the international demand for the staff of applied departments, the doors of the business world will be open to our graduate students in every country. In order for our students to introduce our country abroad in the best way possible, our main goal is to ensure the excellence of our education quality, continuous improvement and keeping it at the highest level. In line with this purpose and target, necessary support is provided for the worldwide branding of our departments and all investments are made. In conclusion, we can say that we have gone beyond learning in the School of Applied Sciences.
