1- Why is popcorn expensive in theaters?

2- Why is it difficult to buy a good used car?

3- What is the most convenient way to collect taxes?

4- Why are some countries rich while others are poor?

These are just some of the questions that economists are asking and trying to answer. Many people think that Economics is only concerned with issues such as exchange rates, interest rates, and national income. Yes, in order to understand the economy, it is necessary to have knowledge about exchange rates, the causes of inflation, the effects of interest rates and the determinants of national income. However, economics education includes much more than that. A good economics education changes your view of the world and the way you perceive the events around you.

What is economy?

The concepts and tools you learn in the economics department will cover the functioning of economies, inflation, interest rates, etc. It will help you to understand as well as help you explain the economic phenomena around you that you may not have noticed until now. This is not a surprise, because many of the events and phenomena around you are related to individuals trying to use their limited resources effectively for certain purposes. To put it more clearly, Economics is a social science branch that examines the whole of production, consumption and distribution relations that people realize in order to survive.

A good economics education…

A good economics education can enable you to work in good positions in banks, public institutions or companies, as well as provide the necessary equipment for those who want to pursue an academic career in order to better understand economic events.
