Organisation profile

It is the branch of dentistry that provides the replacement of teeth that have lost substance or lost due to various reasons, with tissue-friendly materials that will restore aesthetics and function. Diagnosis and treatment planning of patients with partial or complete edentulism and rehabilitation of occlusion are the main fields of study of prosthetic dentistry. The regulation of form, color, and deformity of teeth with various applications is also among the working areas of this Department.

After dentistry education, dentists who have completed their practical and theoretical training and got their doctorate in this Faculty earn the title “Prosthodontists”.

Within the scope of the Department of Prosthodontics;

  • Crowns, partial crowns, dental bridgework, implant-supported prostheses, laminate veneers, and occlusal veneers classified as fixed prosthetic treatments,
  • Total dentures, skeletal and precision attachment dentures, and implant-supported removable dentures, classified as removable prosthetic treatments,
  • Differential diagnosis and treatment of myofascial pain and joint diseases, occlusal splint treatments and
  • Jaw and facial prosthesis applications are made.
