Abstract
This paper presents the five-year follow-up of a 57-year-old male patient who underwent bilateral thoracoscopic lung volume reduction surgery with the diagnosis of emphysema. The patient had been hospitalized three times due to dyspnea during the six months before the operation and after the operation, he required hospitalization for the first time in the postoperative 4th year. Respiratory capacities of the patient increased until the end of the first year and than fell to the preoperative values in the fifth year. The patient died due to pneumonia in the postoperative 6thth year.
