Abstract
Important economic and political changes occurred in Turkey during the last decade. They disrupted the power games both internally to the country and in the region. The displacement of Turkish foreign trade's center of gravity from Europe to Middle-East and North Africa forms the economic background of a new paradigm in the relationships between the West and the East. Associated with important political changes, the last decade has seen a rapid economic development. These two phenomenons are visible in the evolution of the Turkish foreign trade in general, and in its energetic dimension in particular. This commercial evolution has strategic implications too.
