Özet

Technological advancements are prevalent in modern life. This article presents a case of using technology in orthodontics to improve patient and clinician comfort. Rapid maxillary expansion (RME) has become conventional in orthodontic practice, especially at the early stages of skeletal development. In this case, a patient with a narrow maxilla and nasal floor obstruction was treated with a computer-aided design-computeraided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) milled RME appliance bonded with a 6-band metal-cast structure and partial occlusal covering. One of the key advantages of this appliance is the ability to create a custom metal casting to improve stability and retention. Additionally, the appliance is fabricated with inert titanium, without allergenic acrylic resin, making it suitable for patients with allergies. The aim of this case report is to demonstrate the use of modern technologies, including a CAD-CAM milled RME appliance with a Keles Keyless Expander (KKE) anchored to the permanent teeth, to correct transverse deficiency of the maxilla and mitigate nasal airway obstruction. ENT doctors should recommend RME treatment to growing patients suffering from nasal airway obstruction.
